NEWS: GCIRC Circles Come Together to Present $10,000 to Shining Light Garden

The Garden Club of Indian River County partnered with Jasmine Circle to underwrite the purchase and installation of a new refrigeration system to keep the produce from spoiling as it awaits distribution. Several other Circles have also recently donated to the garden, including Allamanda, Poinsettia and Rose Circles.

Shining Light Garden a local organization dedicated to feeding the hungry, homeless and the forgottens one seed at a time.

Making a Difference

Garden Club of I.R.C. believes that communities make gardens grow and gardens help communities grow. Our projects in the recent past included:

➢ Scholarships for Indian River State College Foundation, Scholarship Foundation of IRSC, Camp Wekiva, SEEK, McKee Garden Camp and FAU/Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute.

➢ Sponsorships and Donations to the Environmental Learning Center, Pelican Island Preservation Society, Pelican Island Audubon Society Sustainable Landscape Conference, Ocean Research & Conservation Association, Inc., Shining Light Garden, McKee Botanical Garden, Indian River Land Trust, FFGC Penny Pines Project, McKee Botanical Children’s Garden, Wabasso School Visual Learning Garden, and Meals on Wheels Christmas wreaths, Snowflake Ball Corsages, Blue Star Memorial Markers, Laura (Riding) Jackson general plantings and education materials and ELC “Nature Near You” kits.

➢ Landscaping at VNA Hospice House Memorial Garden, Indian River County Courthouse, St. Francis Manor, Our Father’s Table Soup Kitchen, Freshman Learning Center and Hibiscus Children’s Center, City of VB Public Works Rain Garden #2 and Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation Gardens.
